Terms and Conditions
1. Enrolment
By enrolling in music lessons, students (or parents/guardians of students under 18) agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Enrolment is confirmed once the registration process is completed and any required fees have been paid.
2. Lesson Fees and Payment

Lesson fees must be paid in advance according to the agreed payment schedule (see below).

Payments should be made via bank transfer

Late payments may result in lessons being suspended until the account is brought up to date.

All fees are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Group music lessons:
First trial lesson is free then £10 thereafter. Payment is due at the start of each term (10 x lessons per term).

Private one-one tuition:
First trial lesson is free and then paid weekly in advance (assuming 10 x lessons per term). £30 for 30 mins, £50 for 60 mins.

One term is equivalent to a standard school term.
3. Attendance

Students are expected to attend lessons punctually and prepared.

If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.

Missed lesson time due to lateness cannot be extended or carried forward.
4. Cancellations and Make-Up Lessons
Student Cancellations

For group classes lessons will still run and no reimbursement for missed lessons is possible.

For one-one private tuition, make-up lessons are offered at the teacher's discretion and subject to availability. We will endeavour to do our best to move the lesson. At least 24 hours' notice is required for lesson cancellations. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full.
Teacher Cancellations

If the teacher must cancel a lesson, a replacement lesson or credit will be offered.

If a replacement lesson cannot be arranged, a refund or credit will be provided.
5. Holidays and Breaks

Lessons do not take place during public holidays, school holidays, or scheduled breaks unless otherwise agreed.

Students will be notified of planned closures in advance.
6. Practice Requirements

Students are encouraged to practice regularly between lessons.
-
Progress depends significantly on consistent practice and attendance.

The teacher cannot guarantee examination results, performance outcomes, or specific rates of progress.
7. Instruments and Equipment

Students must have their own instrument and any required learning materials and are responsible for maintenance. Approved instruments and equipment can be purchased directly from Young Musicians Club - advice will be given before lessons commence.

The teacher is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to students' personal property.
8. Conduct and Respect
Students are expected to:

Behave respectfully towards teachers and other students.

Follow reasonable instructions during lessons.
-
Refrain from disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour.
The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons for serious misconduct.
9. Health and Safety

Students should inform the teacher of any medical conditions, learning needs, or accessibility requirements relevant to lesson participation.

Students who are unwell should not attend in-person lessons for the safety of others.

11. Photography and Recordings

Photos, videos, or recordings of lessons will only be taken or shared with consent.

Students may not record lessons for public distribution without prior permission from the teacher.
12. Liability

The teacher will take reasonable care in providing lessons.

Participation in lessons and performances is at the student's own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the teacher shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in lessons.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate lessons by providing written notice of at least one term (10 lessons) unless otherwise agreed.
Any outstanding fees remain payable upon termination.
14. Changes to Terms
The teacher reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. Students will be given reasonable notice of any significant changes.
